WWE set to host a massive 2-day event just one week before Royal Rumble 2025 (Exclusive)
WWE has been on a roll in the last few years, and as the Road to WrestleMania 41 kicks off at Royal Rumble 2025, the company will aim to build on its momentum. There are reportedly plans to hold a major two-day event just one week before the Rumble in Indianapolis.
On WrestleVotes Radio exclusively on Backstage Pass, JoeyVotes and TC revealed a tidbit about the second edition of Saturday Night's Main Event (SNME). The return of SNME will see the TV special take place on five separate occasions. The first one takes place on December 14 in Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, New York.
JoeyVotes revealed that the second edition of Saturday Night's Main Event could happen on January 25. It will likely be paired with the January 24 episode of SmackDown on Friday, making it a two-day event before Royal Rumble 2025 on February 1. As of now, the location for the second edition of the revamped SNME hasn't been determined.
John Cena sent a message ahead of Royal Rumble 2025
When John Cena announced his retirement from WWE, it meant that every major event in 2025, from the Rumble to WrestleMania to SummerSlam, would be his last.
In what he described as "strong words", Cena sent a message before his final Rumble appearance ever.
"Those are strong words, the last time is now, and in 2025, there will be a myriad of history-making events. The last time I will ever compete in a Royal Rumble event is February 1st, Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. And you want to make sure you are there, it is my last Royal Rumble as the road to WrestleMania kicks off. February 1st at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. Act fast as tickets are on sale this Friday, the last time is now, and you should hurry up because, after this, you can't see me," Cena said. [From 00:01 - 00:40]
Cena is expected to participate in the Men's Rumble match, but his comments seem to specifically avoid what role he'll be in. Either way, it will mark the first major premium live event of his retirement tour.
