WWE shares hilarious backstage footage of Kevin Owens and Ricky following SmackDown

WWE shared hilarious backstage footage featuring Ricky, Randy Orton, and Kevin Owens following this past Friday's edition of SmackDown. The Viper and KO competed in a Tag Team Match this week on the blue brand.

A star named Ricky (independent wrestler Ricky Gibson) was revealed as Kevin Owens' mystery tag team partner this past Friday night. However, Randy Orton showed up at the last moment and Owens hit Ricky with a Stunner. The Prizefighter and The Legend Killer then defeated A-Town Down Under (Grayson Waller and Austin Theory) in the match.

After the bout, the two stars had a conversation backstage. Ricky joined the conversation and Owens hilariously apologized for hitting him with the Stunner on SmackDown. KO also noted that he asked Rob Van Dam to be his partner as well, but the veteran said he was "already on another planet."

Randy Orton and Kevin Owens both battled for major titles in the past month at Bash in Berlin. Gunther defeated The Viper to retain the World Heavyweight Championship, and Cody Rhodes successfully defended his Undisputed WWE Championship against Owens.

Former WWE star wants to reunite with Randy Orton

Matt Riddle recently shared that he would want to reunite with Randy Orton if he got the chance to return to WWE.

The Original Bro was released by the promotion last year. He was a part of the popular tag team known as RK-Bro with Orton during his time in the company. In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling earlier this year, Riddle noted that he would want to reform the tag team if he returned to the company. The former United States Champion also praised The Legend Killer's nutritionist.

"If I went back tomorrow I'd wanna reconnect RK-Bro up, give Randy's back a little break, you know?" Riddle said. "Oh, dude, his nutritionist, what a guy! What a guy! Randy's nutritionist, this goes off to you," he said. [5:37 – 5:53]

There have been recent reports that All Elite Wrestling does not have any interest in signing Matt Riddle. Only time will tell if he gets the chance to reunite with Randy Orton in WWE sometime down the line.
