WWE shares interesting backstage update ahead of Saturday Night’s Main Event

WWE has shared an interesting backstage activity ahead of Saturday Night's Main Event. The show will air from Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York, in a few hours.

The global juggernaut discontinued Saturday Night's Main Event in 2008. The Stamford-based company announced the show's return on NBC earlier this year. The edition of SNME will take place at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas, on January 25, 2025.

WWE recently shared a backstage video featuring all the superstars scheduled to compete at Saturday Night's Main Event, except Cody Rhodes and Gunther. While all the performers wrote their names on note cards, General Managers Nick Aldis and Adam Pearce filled in for The American Nightmare and The Ring General, respectively.

WWE Saturday Night's Main Event will feature four championship matches

The show's main event will feature former allies Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens, going against each other for the Undisputed WWE Champion. In another major title match, Gunther will defend his World Heavyweight Championship against stablemate-turned-foes. Damian Priest and Finn Balor, in a Triple-Threat match.

Elsewhere on the card, Damage CTRL's IYO SKY will challenge Liv Morgan for the Women's World Championship. The event will also give the wrestling promotion its inaugural Women's United States Champion, as Chelsea Green and Michin will square off in the final.

In addition to the title matches, RAW Superstars Drew McIntyre and Sami Zayn will lock horns in a grudge match. The Scottish Warrior took out the 40-year-old and Jey Uso on his return to television on the December 2 edition of Monday Night RAW. McIntyre was upset with the superstars aligning themselves with Roman Reigns for WarGames.
