WWE star confirmed for major match in different promotion

A popular WWE SmackDown Superstar was recently confirmed for a major match outside the Stamford-based promotion. The name in question is A-Town Down Under's Grayson Waller.

Before joining WWE, Waller became a popular name on the independent circuit, mainly in Pro Wrestling Australia (PWA), where he won the 2019 Colosseum tournament. The 34-year-old joined the Triple H-led promotion in 2021 and has since become a major name on the SmackDown roster. He has also won the World Tag Team Championship alongside his A-Town Down Under teammate, Austin Theory.

PWA Black Label's official X/Twitter handle recently uploaded a video of Grayson Waller sending a threat to Jimmy Townsend. In the tweet, the promotion also confirmed that Waller was going head-to-head with Townsend in PWA's Colosseum grand finale on October 12, 2024.

"COLOSSEUM SATURDAY. JIMMY TOWNSEND VS GRAYSON WALLER IS ON. Can [Jimmy Townsend] swim? Or will he sink? Find out OCTOBER 12. PWA's GRAND FINAL. Metro Theatre, Sydney. October 12-13. GET TIX NOW [Grayson Waller]," they wrote.

Bill Apter believes Grayson Waller and Austin Theory will not stay together as a tag team for long in WWE

During an edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk, Bill Apter said that he believed Grayson Waller would eventually turn babyface and WWE fans might love his character change.

Apter also mentioned that Austin Theory could be a good heel, before mentioning that the A-Town Down Under might break up soon.

"Grayson Waller is a hell of a competitor. If he somewhere down the line turns babyface, I think we'd have a great character that the fans could really go for. Austin Theory is an incredible heel and he's not being used like they should use him in my opinion. Once again, he should be on the singles ratings right now. So, I see a breakup."

The stars have hinted at breaking up in the past few weeks with them often coming to blows, especially with Waller trying to put Theory in harm's way.

It will be interesting to see what the Stamford-based promotion has planned for the future of Grayson Waller and Austin Theory's tag team.
