WWE star was kicked out the locker room after drinking Booker T's Red Bull, wrestler says

Booker T wrestled for WWE between 2001 and 2007 after making his name in WCW in the 1990s. Fellow wrestler Stevie Richards recently recalled how an incident with the current NXT commentator led to Shawn Spears' removal from the locker room.

Spears worked for WWE as a developmental talent between 2006 and 2009. During that time, the then-rookie allegedly drank a Red Bull backstage without realizing it belonged to Booker T.

On The Stevie Richards Show, Richards said Spears was kicked out of the locker room after the mistake:

"I think somebody, a local, I think it was Shawn Spears, as a matter of fact, had mistakenly thought that there's Red Bulls and a cooler [for anyone to use]. He drank one of the Red Bulls but it was Booker T's Red Bull, and he was told to leave the locker room that day, but I don't know if that was a permanent thing." [7:58 – 8:20]

Richards also revealed how a female star was released from her contract shortly after a real-life confrontation backstage with Batista.

Shawn Spears' WWE career so far

After leaving the company in 2009, Shawn Spears returned in 2013 and reinvented himself as Tye Dillinger. By 2017, he had become one of NXT's most popular performers thanks to his "Perfect 10" gimmick.

The 43-year-old struggled to receive regular television time after moving to the main roster, leading to his departure in 2019.

Spears spent almost five years in AEW before returning to WWE as a member of the NXT brand in February. After feuding with Joe Gacy and Ridge Holland, he became Brooks Jensen's mentor in August.
