WWE star who recently returned after 911 days discusses backstage conversation with Triple H: "I haven't seen them in forever!"
A former WWE star returned to the company for one night on the May 13, episode of RAW in Greenville, South Carolina. Lilian Garcia was backstage to visit her former colleagues when Triple H spoke to her about possibly appearing on television.
Garcia was with WWE for more than 17 years, having two full-time stints with the company from 1999 to 2009 and 2011 to 2016. She has made sporadic appearances since then, with her last show before RAW earlier this year being Tribute to the Troops on November 14, 2021.
In an interview with Ten Count Media, Garcia opened up about her short conversation with Triple H backstage. She was visiting friends on RAW when WWE's Chief Content Officer offered her a small role to co-announce a match with Samantha Irvin.
"I saw that they were in Greenville and I'm like, 'Wow, I would love to see them. I haven't seen them in forever.' I was backstage and then Triple H was like, 'Hey, do you want to be on the show tonight?' I'm like, 'Sure, what do you want me to do?' He goes, 'I think I want you to co-announce with Samantha and announce together.' And I'm like, 'That would be awesome,'" Garcia said. [1:53 - 2:17]
Lilian Garcia went on to announce Kofi Kingston for his match against Gunther, who was introduced by Samantha Irvin. But before it happened, Garcia put over Irvin on WWE television and in front of the Greenville crowd.
Bayley on what it's like to work with Triple H in the new WWE era
Speaking on the Rob Brown Show recently, Bayley was asked what it's like to work with Triple H under the new regime. The Role Model had nothing but praise for The Game, who remains hands-on with the roster despite the size of it and the number of shows per week.
"I still can't believe the era we're in right now. Us NXT kids that grew up with him in that era are super lucky that he's so familiar with us. We got a little taste of it then, but it's so different now where it's on a much larger scale, and somehow he still makes time for everybody," Bayley said. [H/T Fightful]
Bayley has been heavily featured on SmackDown since Triple H took over, with her even winning the 2024 Royal Rumble and beating Iyo Sky for the WWE Women's Championship at WrestleMania 40.
