WWE star sends two-word message ahead of SmackDown return

The WWE Universe is excited for one of World Wrestling Entertainment's biggest events of the year, which is scheduled for August 3—SummerSlam. The show will take place in Cleveland, and there is a hometown champion who most certainly will defend his belt, albeit the match is not made official yet.

The man in question is none other than Logan Paul, and his challenger appears to be LA Knight. The Megastar has been after a championship belt ever since his surge in popularity, but the gold has eluded him thus far. Many fans are astounded that he has not won a title yet, despite being incredibly loved.

LA Knight brought out a contract from SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis' office last week. He later disclosed that it was for a United States Championship match at SummerSlam against Logan Paul. The Maverick has yet to sign the contract.

Taking to Instagram, he has addressed his absence in the last few weeks. Logan Paul returns to SmackDown tonight in Omaha:

"I'm back," he wrote.

LA Knight sent a message to The Maverick ahead of SmackDown, stating that all that needs to be done is to sign the contract. However, judging by Paul's character, it's not out of the question that he has something up his sleeve.

LA Knight feels he is not on the same level as Cody Rhodes on WWE SmackDown

Before Cody Rhodes ended Roman Reigns' run as Undisputed WWE Champion, LA Knight was the hottest act whom fans backed wholeheartedly to put away The Tribal Chief once and for all. Although The Megastar received two opportunities, WWE did not book him to go over.

On Cody's new talk show, What Do You Wanna Talk About?, LA Knight revealed that he got noticed after his merchandise sales topped alongside The American Nightmare's. Despite this, he feels that Rhodes is on another level:

"There've been comparisons, and I think that only happened because of me busting out at the end of 2023 in the merchandise game where I was up there and doing all that. Then I was like, oh my God, wait a minute. Cody is doing all the merchandise numbers, now LA Knight's doing the merchandise numbers, but Cody's right there, and they keep switching back and forth. I think that kind of introduced that. I don't think, maybe I'm being overly humble at this point, I don't feel like people have put me on that same level if I'm honest."

Knight recently weighed in on The Bloodline's new aesthetic and formation. They are after The American Nightmare. It remains to be seen if Knight's match with Paul is made official tonight and, more importantly, if he manages to win his first belt in WWE from the 29-year-old on August 3.
