WWE star that Triple H brought back after four years vows to become champion again "someday" following 42-day title reign
A WWE Superstar has stated in his latest Instagram post that he will become a champion again in the future. Alex Shelley of The Motor City Machine Guns recently lost the Tag Team titles on SmackDown.
Motor City Machine Guns made their World Wrestling Entertainment debut in October and received a loud response from fans. Triple H received big praise for bringing the popular tag team to the company. Shelley had appeared for the Stamford-based promotion in 2020 in what was a one-off deal. A week after their debut, Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley defeated The Bloodline to become the Tag Team Champions.
Unfortunately, the title reign only lasted for 42 days. On December 6, 2024, in the episode of SmackDown, The Motor City Machine Guns lost the belts to Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa. Shortly after, Shelley put up a post on his Instagram handle, boldly stating that he will become a champion again someday.

“I’d like to say it’s a dream come true, but it’s more than that. It’s a goal accomplished for us. It might have taken over 20 years to get here, and being one match away from being the #1 contender for the WWE Tag Team Championship? That’s pretty crazy.” [H/T The Sportster]
Shelley is one of the most beloved stars in the wrestling business. He is a seasoned veteran of the squared circle and has held several coveted belts in various promotions. He and Sabin are three-time TNA/Impact World Tag Team Champions.
It won't be a surprise, in the least, if the duo wins the Tag Team titles for the blue brand in the near future. For now, though, Gargano and Ciampa hold the belts and are determined to hold on to them for a long time.
