WWE star who hasn't wrestled in 1,466 days hints about his future plans
An inactive WWE star who has not wrestled in four years hinted about his future in the business. Titus O'Neil currently works as a global ambassador for the company but is looking at the next part of his career.
The former WWE Tag Team Champion last wrestled on the November 9th, 2020 episode of WWE RAW at the ThunderDome in Orlando. He lost to Bobby Lashley in a United States Championship match that lasted for just a minute and five seconds.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, the Warrior Award winner opened up about his future. He didn't confirm or deny his status as an in-ring competitor but admitted to having goals outside wrestling. He's looking to follow in the footsteps of The Rock, John Cena, and Batista in Hollywood.
"My life, it's not centered around just being in the ring. I enjoy competing, I enjoy entertaining, but honestly, at this point in my life I have so many projects that are coming up with film and television. That's an area that I've had a desire to go through. ... I've really sunk my teeth into hopefully having some success and a lot of success in comparison to my counterparts that have also moved into that space. Dave Bautista, John Cena, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson," O'Neil said. [H/T: Wrestling, Inc.]
According to his IMDb page, Titus O'Neil has three upcoming projects titles Way Out of Bounds, Battle Thy Seeds, and The Walk-On's. He'll be joined by former WWE Superstars Gene Snitsky and Darren Young in Out of Bounds, while WWE legends such as Stone Cold Steve Austin and Chris Jericho are on The Walk-On's.
O'Neil also has a small role in Batista's upcoming movie titled Trap House, which recently wrapped up filming and is currently in post-production.
Titus O'Neil has no bad words for former WWE CEO Vince McMahon
Despite the allegations against Vince McMahon, Titus O'Neil still appreciates the opportunity McMahon gave to him during his career. O'Neil told US Weekly last September that he's "forever grateful" to the former WWE chairman.
"At the end of the day, what he built cannot be erased. It's sad that the situation came to what it came to, but I don't have any bad words for Vince. .. It's very interesting to hear different perspectives on things, but at the end of the day, I'll forever be grateful for what Vince McMahon built, the platform that he built for so many people. He's human, just like anyone else," O'Neil said. [H/T: US Weekly]
O'Neil was infamously suspended for 60 days by Vince McMahon in early 2016 after an interaction with McMahon caught on-screen during Daniel Bryan's retirement ceremony.
