WWE stars were visibly "nervous" during their SmackDown match due to the crowd, veteran notes (Exclusive)

For several years, WWE has developed talents in NXT that have gone on to become main-event players. The journey to the top, however, isn't always easy, and Dutch Mantell felt some of the female call-ups from NXT needed more time.

Blair Davenport, Indi Hartwell, and Naomi competed in a Triple Threat match on SmackDown for a spot in the Women's Money in the Bank Ladder match.

Naomi unsurprisingly won the match, and Dutch Mantell felt more than the win it was important to have the former women's champion in the ring with fresh faces.

While speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling Smack Talk, Mantell stated that many NXT stars aren't used to performing in front of large crowds, which can be a daunting experience

"These girls, this is all new to them. That crowd is all new to them. In NXT, they didn't draw crowds like that. They are nervous. So, they've got to learn to work with a person. That's like putting a new team together." [58:17 - 58:33]

Dutch Mantell urged the fans to be patient as the "clunky" performances will gradually turn into polished in-ring work.

The former WWE manager recalled how bookers were hard on talents in the past, and as time has changed, talents these days are rightfully given more freedom to reach a higher level.

"They are learning; they don't want to make mistakes. I've seen guys make mistakes and come out, and the booker just chews their a** out. It was clunky; I'll give you that. But she is learning the system; that's what she is doing right now." [58:49 - 59:00]

With Shawn Michaels and Triple H in charge of the WWE shows, the talents coming through the system are in able hands as they work towards becoming competent wrestlers on weekly television
