WWE suddenly changes top champion's famous move's name after almost 40 years
WWE has decided to change the name of the move of a top champion and confirmed it on SummerSlam. The move is one of the most important ones in the star's arsenal.
At WWE SummerSlam Bron Breakker finally became the Intercontinental Champion. He has been pursuing the title for quite some time now, and having won it, the star has quite a lot of options in front of him. He still has not decided who will be next to challenge for the title, although there's no lack of competition in the RAW midcard for the championship.
While fans will have to wait to see what happens with the title, there was a big change made at the show as well, as Bron Breakker's big move, the Frankensteiner, was changed. Pat McAfee had previously called it the Breakkinsteiner and on SummerSlam, he confirmed that it was the new name for the move.
The move was first used by Scott Steiner. He used it as a finishing move and named it. Now, thanks to Pat McAfee, the name has been changed going forward. The move involves hitting a spiking Hurrincarana on the opponent from the top rope. Steiner first started using the move in the 80s.
The move can be seen below when Breakker used it on Sami Zayn.
Bron Breakker defeated Sami Zayn to become the WWE Intercontinental Champion
At SummerSlam, Bron Breakker finally got the shot he wanted. After having lost to Zayn earlier in the year, Breakker only wanted one thing - another shot at Zayn's Intercontinental Title.
Doing anything that it took to get it, including laying out the champion multiple times in the build to the match, Bron Breakker desperately wanted to win the title once and for all.
The star was successful and became champion after a second spear was enough to keep the champion down. This is his first title reign on the WWE main roster.
Fans will have to wait to see if Zayn gets a rematch.
