WWE Superstar Jey Uso in critical juncture, fears 60-year-old veteran

Jey Uso against Bron Breakker is a rivalry WWE can bank on in the coming months. It also marks the Intercontinental Champion's first program since winning the belt at SummerSlam in August.

Unfortunately for Uso, this is exactly why the company might not want to put the strap on him. At least, not right away. WCW legend, Konnan, feels The Bloodline's former Right Hand Man deserves to hoist a singles title, and that it was long overdue.

He also acknowledged that the timing of this feud could mean that Main Event Jey was being set up for failure again. Speaking on Keepin' It 100, the 60-year-old veteran voiced his concern about the numerous times Uso had failed to lift a singles title and this was a critical juncture for him as the current champion was on a roll as well.

"Given how many times [Jey Uso] has been close to a title shot and come up short, this was perfect. Because they have been underutilizing him. And Jey got the win, as he should have. I'm just afraid since Breakker is so hot right now, it's not the right time to give it to Uso even though Uso does deserve it," he said. [From 36:51 to 37:10]

Jey Uso vs. Bron Breakker has not been announced for WWE Bad Blood, even though there was word on the rumor mill that it was being considered for the Atlanta show.

WWE RAW's Jey Uso vs. Bron Breakker rivalry has been brewing for weeks

Jey Uso made several attempts to win his first singles title in the past year, with the Intercontinental Championship being one of the belts he had his eyes on. Uso challenged Gunther in February and nearly won the battle before his brother Jimmy cost him the match.

With this backstory already there, Mr. Main Event seems like an ideal fit for the Intercontinental Championship picture. However, after Bron Breakker put down Sami Zayn and claimed the second oldest belt in WWE, he deliberately targeted Uso.

Turning it into a family issue, Breakker brought up their lineage. He claimed that no Samoan had ever beat up a Steiner and that Uso was not going to be the first one to accomplish that feat.
