WWE Superstar needs "85 suffering succotash moments" before reaching Roman Reigns' level, says former World Champion
While many WWE stars of today aspire to be the next Roman Reigns, John Cena has claimed that SmackDown's Austin Theory is a long way from there.
The 25-year-old has long been seen as one of the next big stars in the company. He has won the United States title twice and captured the Money In The Bank briefcase.
During a recent interview on Notsam Wrestling, John Cena revealed the advice that he gave to Austin Theory earlier in the year when they worked together:
"I was really trying to hammer this home with Theory. It took Roman 10 years, eight years at the top, pushed for eight years for the lightbulb to go off and be like, 'I"m doing it my way. I will work with who they say, I will hit my times, but I'm going to be who I really am."
Cena said that the current United States Champion must go through some embarrassing moments, as Reigns did early on in his career, before reaching the company's top.
"When I talk to somebody like Theory, who has stars in his eyes and at 25 thinks he's got a long road in front of him. You really need to start now, failing. Don't just perform, fail, like a lot and then one day you'll get it. You need to have like 85 suffering succotash moments." [H/T f4wonline]
Whilst Austin Theory may need some time before he reaches the top of the card, the young star did upset the odds at WrestleMania 39 last month as he defeated John Cena.
Roman Reigns is gunning for more gold
After beating Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 39 to retain his title, it seems as though The Head of The Table is ready to add more championship gold to his trophy cabinet.
His cousins, The Usos, lost their Tag Team titles to Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. Roman Reigns has now taken it upon himself and Solo Sikoa to reclaim the belts for The Bloodline.
Roman Reigns is slowly approaching 1000 days as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion and will look to cap this huge milestone by becoming Tag Team Champion for the first time since 2013.
