WWE is taking huge gamble with major champion, says veteran, that could turn into disaster unless one thing happens

Wrestling veteran Jonathan Coachman thinks WWE putting the Women's World Title on Becky Lynch is a gamble unless she has signed a new deal.

Last Monday on RAW, The Man eliminated Liv Morgan to win the Battle Royal and capture the vacant Women's World Champion. However, the newly crowned champion could be out of the Stamford-based company in just a few weeks, as her contract is set to expire in June. In recent interviews, Lynch revealed that she had not yet signed a new deal with WWE under Triple H's new era.

On the Behind The Turnbuckle podcast, Coachman discussed Lynch's victory on RAW. He pointed out that the decision to have The Man win the championship indicated that she had signed a new deal. He added that if that's not the case, then the company would be taking the risk of Lynch leaving with the title:

"Did Becky sign the new deal? Because if she didn't and it's up in about a month from what she said on the Ariel Helwani show, are they rolling the dice? Because the last thing you don't want is your champion to have the strap when they walk out the door. We've seen that years ago with Bret Hart. It's not a good look. So, it tells me, Tommy [Carlucci], she does have a new deal done," he said. [From 09:02 to 09:23]

Bully Ray explained why he believes WWE put the title on Becky Lynch

Although many fans wanted Liv Morgan to become the new Women's World Champion after Rhea Ripley vacated the title due to injury, the company decided to put the title on Becky Lynch. Former WWE employee Tommy Carlucci pointed out on the Behind The Turnbuckle podcast that it was a safe move due to The Man's ability to perform all obligations required from a top champion.

Hall of Famer Bully Ray also has a similar perspective. On the Busted Open podcast, he explained that while the company continues to prepare Morgan for the spot, they had put the title on a big star:

"When you have a situation like what happened with Rhea Ripley, where there's an unfortunate accident, she gets injured, and you have a championship that you need to double park on somebody, you double park it on a huge star. Because the huge star will be able to carry the championship until you build a star that you wanted to get to."

Becky Lynch is not the only top superstar whose contract is set to expire soon. Her husband, Seth Rollins, and Drew McIntyre are among the names WWE could lose in the next few weeks if they do not sign new deals. It would be interesting to see if any of these stars leave the Stamford-based company.
