WWE: Trick Williams responds to Oba Femi's serious claim
Oba Femi recently declared that he would "easily" dethrone reigning WWE NXT Champion Trick Williams at the next premium live event. Following the Tuesday Night Show, The Anointed One responded to The Ruler's claim.
At the 2024 Deadline PLE, Femi returned and won the Men's Iron Survivor Challenge to become the number one contender for Williams' WWE title. The two men encountered each other for the first time on the December 10 edition of the black-and-silver brand. During this segment, The Ruler claimed that Trick Williams' status as the top star in NXT was solely because Femi allowed him to maintain that position.
Oba Femi also stated that he would easily defeat The Anointed One for the NXT Title at New Year's Evil on January 7, 2025. Recently, the 30-year-old WWE Superstar broke his silence on his opponent's claim.
During an appearance on the Busted Open After Dark podcast, Trick Williams confidently asserted that The Ruler's bravado does not faze him, as he has faced similar challenges throughout his career.
"I mean, to a lesser man who hasn't heard those words before, I might have been shook [sic]. If I had't been told these types of things my whole life, then maybe I would have been shook [sic], but that doesn't shake me. He [Oba Femi] is supposed to think that; he's supposed to feel like that, but guess what? I feel the same way," he said.
The Anointed One added:
"If Oba thinks he's going to take this title off of me, he's going to have to die for it because I'm not laying down." [From 13:41 to 14:05]

WWE star Trick Williams picks Oba Femi for a bar fight
Before the Deadline Premium Live Event, Trick Williams seemingly praised the former longest-reigning WWE NXT North American Champion. The 30-year-old champion was asked to pick four wrestlers who he'd want as backups in a bar fight.
On the No-Contest Wrestling podcast, Trick Williams named Oba Femi, Tony D'Angelo, Je'Von Evans, and Lexis King as his ideal allies for a bar fight, citing their strengths and their perceived unpopularity with the WWE Universe.
"We want Oba Femi on my side; we need The Ruler. Got to get Tony D' [Angelo] in there. He is solid. People don't know he had a whole wrestling background; a whole other life before this; he can throw down. [sic] Let me bring The Young OG; he's jumping off [people in the bar]. He's the Spider-Man to our Avengers team. We got Je'Von Evans on the team. Give me Lexis King. I'll tell you why. However, as much as the people hate me, I know they hate him way more," he said.
