WWE Universe starts chanting during Chad Gable's segment; gives special Kurt Angle tribute

The May 20, 2024 episode of Monday Night RAW saw the WWE Universe uniting during the show’s kickoff. The episode was opened by Sami Zayn, who was followed by Chad Gable soon after. But, while the crowd gave a big pop to the Intercontinental Champion, they made more noise for his opponent, Chad Gable.

Interestingly, however, The Alpha Academy leader was subjected to a chorus of massive chants of “you suck” from the crowd. Notably, the chants seemed synonymous with the way the fans called out another Olympian pro wrestler, Kurt Angle. Spectators all across the US, even in his hometown of Pittsburgh have chanted the words whenever Angle came to wrestle.

The WWE Universe now gave the same treatment to Chad Gable while he was humiliating his Alpha Academy pupils. Notably, while fans chanted against the Olympian, they erupted in massive cheers for his stablemate, Otis.

To the surprise of the fans, however, out of all The Alpha Academy members, Otis was the only one to attack Sami Zayn during the match. Chad Gable had dismissed Maxxine Dupri and Akira Tozawa from ringside after they chose to not help their mentor.

However, Gable didn’t leave a choice for Otis and slapped him into helping him. Earlier, the WWE Intercontinental Champion had asked Alpha Academy members how long they were going to put up with what their mentor threw their way.

It will be interesting to see if the team stays united in the future, or turns on Chad Gable.
