32-year-old star should have become the new Tribal Chief in WWE instead of Solo Sikoa, believes veteran, and face Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam 2024

A wrestling veteran has opened up about why another up-and-coming performer, and not Solo Sikoa, should have been the new Tribal Chief in WWE. Matt Morgan believes though Solo has been doing a great job in the role, Jacob Fatu would have been his pick as the new Tribal Chief of The Bloodline.

Solo Sikoa announced himself as The Tribal Chief in the closing moments of last week's WWE SmackDown. He further asserted his dominance at MITB 2024, where he pinned Cody Rhodes, who teamed up with Randy Orton and Kevin Owens, to secure the win for him, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu.

This has more or less confirmed his spot at SummerSlam 2024 as the next challenger for Cody's Undisputed WWE Title. Matt Morgan, however, believes the Stamford-based promotion should have headed in a different direction.

On the Gigantic Pop podcast, Morgan echoed the same sentiment when host Raj Giri mentioned how Jacob Fatu should have gotten the pin over Cody to set up a SummerSlam 2024 encounter. The former WWE star explained that as much as Solo Sikoa has improved as an overall talent, Jacob was still more deserving of the spot and should have been the new Tribal Chief.

"Me too. Way more, and no disrespect to Solo (Sikoa). He's doing much better, he's improving, he wasn't given an easy position to pull off. He's doing better at it. But again, Jacob (Fatu) would have been much better Tribal Chief, but that's just me," said Matt Morgan. (32:30 - 32:47)

Rikishi outlines why he doesn't want to return to WWE as Solo Sikoa's Wiseman

One of the most shocking twists in the ongoing Bloodline saga saw Paul Heyman kicked out of the stable. On the latest episode of his Rikishi Fatu Off The Top podcast, Rikishi addressed the possibility of returning and taking up Heyman's spot in The Bloodline. The WWE legend turned it down, saying a return wouldn't fit into his schedule and that he wasn't ready to compromise on his family time.

"People ask would I be interested (in returning as The Wiseman). Yeah, I guess. It makes sense. Is the scheduling gonna be (a problem), cause I don't wanna hit the road, and that would probably be the only reason why I would probably decline. There's so much to my life now than professional wrestling. My time is my time now, the second part of my life is to spend time to visit my kids, my grandkids, and it's nice when I show up to the boys' homes," said Rikishi.

It remains to be seen how Solo Sikoa and his stablemates fill the void created by Paul Heyman's removal from The Bloodline.
