WWE veteran comments on Gunther mentioning Goldberg as his favorite wrestler on RAW (Exclusive)
Gunther welcomed back Bret Hart to WWE programming and took a shot at the legend by mentioning Goldberg as his favorite wrestler. Former company employee Vince Russo shared his thoughts on the same during his recent appearance on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW.
Bret Hart made his first appearance on RAW for the first time in many years last night. The WWE Hall of Famer was soon interrupted by Gunther who called him his second favorite wrestler of all time behind Goldberg. Sami Zayn soon came out to confront the Ring General and once again demanded a shot at his title. While the Austrian star initially walked away from the challenge, the duo soon exchanged hands.
Speaking about the segment, Vince Russo noted that while he liked the exchange between the World Heavyweight Champion and Bret Hart, he was not impressed with Sami Zayn's part:
"We had Bret Hart get a nice pop which is great. That’s good for Bret to get all his dessert. But when Gunther said his favorite wrestler was Goldberg, that popped me. I loved it. Then the Sami thing is like, oh bro, please stop with this guy for crying out loud." [From 1:06:18 onwards]
For those unaware, Bret Hart and Goldberg have been at odds for decades. Hart has publicly called out the powerhouse for his reckless wrestling style which also allegedly played a part in ending the WWE legend's career.
