WWE veteran confirms what will follow Vince McMahon's Netflix docuseries
Former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon’s Netflix docuseries, Mr. McMahon, has taken the industry by storm. A veteran has confirmed what fans can expect following the docuseries’ release.
Jonathan Coachman worked closely with Vince McMahon during his tenure with the company. It appears Netflix approached The Coach to appear in Mr. McMahon’s docuseries, but he turned down the offer as he was unprepared for it.
Speaking on the Behind The Turnbuckle podcast, Coachman made a major revelation about a future documentary. He noted that another production company had approached him to appear in a documentary related to the company after Mr. McMahon’s release on Netflix.
"Full transparency, another production company on a major network reached out to me yesterday and they’re doing another documentary on the WWE. I don’t know what the network is. They’re actually calling me today after we get done with this show about me being in that one because a lot of people don’t realize how close I was to Vince for many years. I was his assistant. I was on his plane. I did all the press conferences," Coachman said.
He added that the lady from the production company who emailed him knew what he did for Vince in WWE.
"This production company, somehow, they found out because this lady knew exactly what I had done with Vince when she emailed me yesterday." [H/T - WrestlingNews.co]
While fans can expect another major documentary down the road, it’s unclear whether the production company will focus on Vince McMahon or some other aspect of the Stamford-based wrestling promotion as the focus for the production.
WWE is heading towards a Netflix debut without Vince McMahon
Vince McMahon was one of the main reasons for WWE’s success around the globe. The company has now moved away from its former owner and has been taken over by TKO.
The company is set to debut WWE RAW on the Netflix platform soon. This will be one of the biggest steps in the company’s history.
Triple H is the driving force behind the creative team, with Nick Khan at the helm of affairs overall. Most fans feel the two are doing a phenomenal job at ensuring that the company continues to dish out some top content for the WWE Universe.
It would be great to see WWE get successful on the Netflix platform. It will be a step in the right direction post-Vince McMahon and will give the company to experiment with in numerous ways in the coming months.
