WWE veteran excited about plans for a first-time-ever match Randy Orton match (Exclusive)

Randy Orton closed out another packed SmackDown episode by advancing in the King of the Ring tournament. During the latest Smack Talk episode, Dutch Mantell explained why booking Orton vs. Tama Tonga for the next round was the right call.

As seen on SmackDown, The Viper defeated Carmelo Hayes in a pretty impressive main event match. Tama Tonga also went ahead in the KOTR competition by defeating LA Knight and his next match will be a first-time-ever showdown with Randy Orton.

Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk, Dutch Mantell noted that Orton was always the favorite to win against Hayes as the clash against Tonga looked more exciting on paper.

The former WWE manager loved the company's plans for the King of the Ring semi-finals and felt Tonga and Orton would create magic when they meet inside the squared circle.

"Okay, did you doubt that Orton wouldn't win it? Maybe? Well, you were right. I figured Orton was going to win because Tama Tonga won, and he would be facing the other kid, right? There is no sting to it. There is no push to it. But Tonga vs Orton has got the magic about it. The first time they've matched up. But I enjoyed the match." [From 19:45 onwards]

Dutch Mantell went on to praise Orton's consistently solid work and noted how the veteran WWE star was patient with his movements, giving the announcers a lot of moments to comment on.

Dutch also brought to attention Randy Orton's long tenure in WWE and how he is still going strong after multiple decades.

"Orton is freaking great. He doesn't miss anything. He takes his time, and I think he gives the announcers a lot to talk about. How long has he been doing this? 20 years? More than that?" [From 20:00 onwards]

Randy Orton will soon be 45 but looks better than ever as he looks to win the King of the Ring crown.
