WWE veteran explains why criticizing Vince McMahon may be a mistake (Exclusive)

Since the disturbing allegations against Vince McMahon have come to light, many WWE veterans and fans alike have taken to condemning the former Chairman for the yet unproven (and alleged) misconduct charges. According to a particular veteran, this may not be the best idea at this point.

The upcoming Netflix Docuseries about Vince McMahon has once again sparked a discussion about the former WWE head honcho. In a recent interview, Mark Henry also commented on the matter and talked about his perspective of McMahon without condemning him. This is also seemingly in line with Vince Russo's thoughts, who was also asked about the controversy.

Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Outlaws, Vince Russo stated that he was not in favor of the constant berating of the 78-year-old controversial figurehead. A person is innocent until proven guilty and the former head writer for the Stamford-based company wanted to abide by that rule of law, without taking any sides.

"The badmouthing of Vince bothers me man. Because we don't know. You don't know. I am not defending him by any means. You don't know bro. None of us know, and you keep pounding on this guy and I like, I just constantly keep thinking to myself like what if the dude is innocent? You know what I am saying? What if this was a money grab?" he said. [7:57 onwards]

The WWE veteran thinks Mark Henry is still in touch with Vince Mcmahon

According to Vince Russo, Mark Henry's words were quite a clear indicator that he was still in regular contact with Vince McMahon.

Adding to his comments on The Wrestling Outlaws, the former WWE head writer stated that it was still not a wise move to give a definitive opinion of McMahon until there was an official verdict on the controversy.

"I guess Mark Henry still keeps in touch with him [Vince McMahon], I mean that's what it sounds like anyway. But it's like [...] You could be Vince's best friend, I could be Vince's greatest enemy, neither one of us know what happened man. And it's you know I mean, god you know I mean Ronda Rousey is beating him up, I mean Bret Hart is beating him up I mean, I won't do that bro because we don't know," he said. [8:27 onwards]

Only time will tell how the docuseries will be received by the WWE Universe and the pro wrestling industry when it releases on September 25 on Netflix.
