WWE veteran explains why the latest allegations against Vince McMahon have surfaced (Exclusive)

Former WWE CEO Vince McMahon made headlines again recently after new allegations against him surfaced as part of another lawsuit. A veteran has also commented on the matter, specifically talking about its timing.

A lawsuit was recently filed against TKO, World Wrestling Entertainment, Vince, and Linda McMahon regarding their alleged involvement in the infamous Ring Boys scandal in 1992. For those unaware, it refers to the alleged sexual misconduct of Pat Patterson, Terre Garvin, and Mel Phillips with certain underage ring boys. Now former WWE head writer Vince Russo has put forth his views.

The lawsuit accuses the defendants of knowing about these incidents and yet doing nothing to stop it. On a recent episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Outlaws show, EC3 had questions regarding why the lawsuit was filed after so many years. According to wrestling veteran Vince Russo, the timing could be attributed to it being potentially easier to obtain a sizeable settlement presently, considering Vince McMahon was already the target of several allegations.

"I think why now bro is because when you look at the hot water that Vince McMahon is in, does he need more on top of this? Could this be settlement?" stated Russo. [9:45 onwards]

The WWE veteran also commented on a major problem with the lawsuit

While the alleged issues highlighted in the lawsuit are certainly serious, Vince Russo thinks it would be difficult to prove anything against Vince McMahon at this point.

Speaking on the same episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Outlaws, the WWE veteran stated that several culprits of the Ring Boys scandal were already deceased, making it problematic to make a good case against the defendants.

"The defendents that were allegedly active in this, in the acts, they are all dead. They are not with us anymore. Pat Patterson's not with us anymore, [Terry] Garvin, Mel Phillips, they've all since passed away. So part of the lawsuit is Vince McMahon and Linda McMahon knew about it. I don't know how you prove that. I don't know, I don't know how you prove that they were privy to what was going on, you know?" he said. [5:00 onwards]

Only time will tell what former WWE CEO Vince McMahon plans to do next in the face of these recent allegations.
