WWE veteran hates Cody Rhodes and The Bloodline's current direction; thinks superstars need to "earn" their money (Exclusive)
Cody Rhodes and The Bloodline are heading in two different directions after crossing paths multiple times in WWE. A veteran believes that the company is doing injustice to its product.
WWE will be heading to Saudi Arabia for another Crown Jewel PLE later this week. The company has pre-taped the upcoming edition of SmackDown to prepare for the long journey to the Middle East. Cody Rhodes and Gunther will battle for the newly revealed Crown Jewel Championship at the show. Meanwhile, Roman Reigns and The Usos will face Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline at the show.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestlings’s The Coach and Bro Wrestling Show, Jonathan Coachman stated that the change in storylines for the PLE made little sense to him.
"At what point did we get from Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns at Bad Blood as partners to Cody Rhodes against Gunther - Bloodline, tag team, Survivor Series? It's very convoluted for me right now," Jonathan Coachman stated.
Vince Russo stated in his famous words that it was all about the money and cashing in that cheque. The deal with Saudi Arabia guaranteed a lot of money for the Stamford-based promotion.
The Coach wanted to see stars and the company earn money by doing something different. Saudi Arabia’s massive deal meant that the company simply put on shows to build a certain direction that had been set for them.
"I want to have athletes that have contracts where they wanna earn the money instead of guaranteed money," The Coach added.
WWE fans will get a few massive matches at the upcoming Crown Jewel event. However, it’ll be interesting to see how the creative team books the finishes to the two big matches between its top men’s and women’s champions.
Cody Rhodes could have joined Roman Reigns for a match against The Bloodline at WWE Crown Jewel
WWE could have kept Jey Uso out of the mix for a little longer and allowed him to carry the Intercontinental Championship. Meanwhile, Cody Rhodes could have worked with Roman Reigns again, this time with Jimmy Uso by their side.
The three babyfaces could have taken on The Bloodline in another massive contest at the show. A loss could have led to Jey Uso’s return to the fold along with Sami Zayn ahead of Survivor Series: WarGames.
Instead, the writers have chosen to book a match between the Undisputed WWE Champion and World Heavyweight Champion for the Men’s Crown Jewel Title. Meanwhile, Roman Reigns and his men will face The Bloodline.
