WWE veteran hopes Chad Gable gets a breakout push despite devastating loss on SmackDown (Exclusive)

Former WWE manager Dutch Mantell recently spoke about Chad Gable losing on SmackDown. The star appeared on this week's SmackDown.

American Made showed up on the blue brand this week and got in the face of Cody Rhodes. Chad Gable laid down a challenge for Rhodes, and the champ accepted, leading to a matchup between the two later in the night. However, Cody picked up the win and handed the former Olympian another loss.

On a special episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling's SmackTalk, Mantell explained that losses didn't really matter much and that Chad Gable could still get a big push. He felt fans wanted to see their favorite stars win, but sometimes creative wasn't ready to push them. He pointed out Sami Zayn's case, where he constantly lost his matches before getting a big push that made him a top star.

"Getting beat time and time again really doesn't mean all that much. We complain about it. We want to see guys get momentum going way before the creative team is ready for them. Say, take Sami Zayn. How many times did he get beat in the middle of the ring? He had to get beat 10-15 times. You could a 10-year-old kid, who's gonna win this match? Well, it wasn't gonna be Sami Zayn. But look at what it's got him. He went out there, he did great work. Eventually, they said we put something behind him and he can go. Same way with Chad and same way with the entire team." Although Chad Gable lost to Cody, he softened up the champ, allowing Kevin Owens to mount an attack in the aftermath of the encounter.

It will be interesting to see if American Made can rack up some wins in the coming months.
