WWE veteran opens up on the mistakes that led to Bray Wyatt's disconnect with the fans
Former WWE star Stevie Richards recently spoke about how WWE presented Bray Wyatt. The star was one of the most prominent faces of the company before his untimely demise last year.
During the June 17 episode of RAW, the Wyatt Sicks showed up on the red brand, led by Uncle Howdy. The faction left a trail of bodies in their path with several WWE personnel laid out and blood smeared on the walls.
During the inaugural episode of The Stevie Richards Show, the veteran noted that Bray's character work was amazing and smart fans related to it. However, he felt the casual wrestling viewers could not identify with this seemingly supernatural character going to head to head with the other WWE Superstars. That led to a huge disconnect with the fans, according to Richards.
"This was the problem that Bray had. Bray's character was amazing, Bray's presentation, the symbolism, all the really smart stuff that people who know about the conspiracies and other stuff like that, really got into. But your casual wrestling fan who brought his family doesn't understand how The Fiend can interact with Randy Orton or this person or even Goldberg or these other people. It just felt like a huge disconnect. Do you agree with that?" [From 31:08 - 31:35]
Bo Dallas spoke about Bray Wyatt
This week on WWE RAW, exactly seven days after the Wyatt Sicks first appeared, Bo Dallas was in a sit-down interview with Uncle Howdy.
During the spine-chilling conversation, Howdy asked Bo about his brother and questioned if he was trying to exploit Bray Wyatt's legacy. Dallas became emotional as he recounted how he always wanted to be like his brother. He felt it was unfair how Bray was taken away from him.
Bo concluded by saying that everyone was forgetting about Bray Wyatt after his demise, but he and Uncle Howdy made them all remember.
