WWE veteran outraged with CM Punk possibly getting huge title opportunity - "This whole thing is pathetic" (Exclusive)
WWE star CM Punk is one of the most popular babyfaces in the company. He returned at Survivor Series: WarGames last year and has been with the RAW brand ever since.
Punk last faced Drew McIntyre in a brutal Hell in a Cell contest at Bad Blood. The Second City Saint won the bout, ending the trilogy of matches against The Scottish Warrior. On the following RAW, the multi-time world champion claimed that the encounter had taken a toll on his body and he needed some time off.
This week on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW, former WWE writer Vince Russo discussed the possibility of Punk receiving a title shot against Gunther. He didn't seem to care about the match, citing The Best in the World's age. Russo was not interested in seeing a 46-year-old Punk lock horns with The Ring General.
"How old is CM Punk? Do I care about CM Punk vs. Gunther? Do I care about a 46-year-old man against Gunther? It's pathetic, bro. This whole thing is pathetic." [From 10:50 onwards]
While a match with Punk may be on the horizon, Gunther currently needs to focus on Damian Priest. The Archer of Infamy has proved to be a real threat to The Austrian Anomaly's World Heavyweight Championship. The two stars will collide at Survivor Series in a blockbuster matchup for the gold.
