WWE veteran shares his honest thoughts on The Undertaker: "I have known him for over 30 years" (Exclusive)
The Undertaker needs no introduction to the pro-wrestling industry, let alone the WWE Universe. A veteran recently shared his experiences working with the legend, with nothing but good things to talk about.
Before taking on the iconic character of the Undertaker, Mark Calaway was known as Mean Mark Callous. He had an on-screen manager at that time as well, a role which had Harvey Wippleman as well. According to Harvey, he was the last manager of Mean Mark and had a close relationship with the legend.
Speaking in an interview with Dr. Chris Featherstone of Sportskeeda, Harvey shared his thoughts on the Undertaker:
"Oh great guy. Matter of fact, I was the last person to ever manage him, it was in the Memphis territory against Jerry the King Lawler, before he became the Undertaker. When he was still Mean Mark (Callous). So I have known him for over 30 years and he is just a fantastic guy. He deserves every accolade, every award, every Hall of Fame, whatever he is given. I don't have one negative comment or statement to say about Undertaker." [5:01 onwards]
The WWE veteran was also asked about his thoughts on Andre the Giant
While Harvey Wippleman and Andre the Giant did work in WWE at the same time at one point, the two never actually met.
In the same interview with Dr. Chris Featherstone, Harvey explained that he had never approached Andre. He said:
"Believe it or not, I never met Andre the Giant. Never even met him. When I first came to WWE, Andre was still there but he was, like, on his last days. And he wasn't around that much and I didn't know him and they said that he wasn't the most approachable guy. And I didn't wanna, you know, impose on him. So, I never met him." [4:42 onwards]
Andre the Giant passed away in 1993, at the age of 46.
