WWE veteran suggests Triple H's possible favorite could dethrone current champ - "I would not be surprised if they did" (Exclusive)
Former WWE head writer Vince Russo recently spoke about Triple H or other backstage officials giving preference to some stars. He was reviewing Liv Morgan vs. IYO SKY for the Women's World Championship when the discussion arose.
Liv has been impressive during her current run as Women's World Champion, aligning with "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio and redefining her gimmick as a top heel. The star will now have to deal with the explosive IYO SKY who is out to claim the gold after an impressive performance at Survivor Series WarGames.
During the latest episode of Writing with Russo, the veteran writer felt Liv should hands down retain the title. However, he felt that Triple H or some other production crew members were probably high on IYO. Russo stated that the title could change hands because of how popular SKY was:
"That is tricky and I'll tell you why. Liv has done a fantastic job, she's done a great job. But somebody trhere loves IYO SKY bro. I don't know who it is. I don't know if it's Trips (Triple H), I don't know who. Somebody loves her. So the bottomline is they definitely should not beat Liv. But I would not be surprised if they did." [From 2:05 onwards]
This past week on RAW, IYO showed up to take out Morgan as the champ tried to interfere during Rhea Ripley and Raquel Rodriguez's Anything Goes Match. After the encounter, Rhea and SKY held the title as the show went off-air.
Liv Morgan and IYO SKY will face off at Saturday Night's Main Event with the fate of the Women's World title hanging in the balance.
