WWE veteran takes credit for The Rock's success; claims he "got nothing" in return (Exclusive)

The Rock is arguably the biggest name to have come out of WWE. A veteran writer recently revealed that he has a major role to play in The Brahma Bull's skyrocketing success.

Vince Russo worked in WWE for several years and helped shape many superstars' careers. The Rock was one of the men who benefited from the advice of the former WWE head writer.

While speaking on the latest episode of The Coach and Bro Show Wrestling Show on Sportskeeda's Backstage Pass, Vince Russo opened up about The Great One's debut. He noted that The Brahma Bull was booed out of the building following his initial appearance for the company.

"I was there when Rocky Maivia came out with his tassels and got booed out of the building," Vince Russo said.

Russo then claimed that he pulled The Rock aside and gave him some important tips that helped him excel to the next level. Vince said he was the one who told him to refer to himself in the third person during interviews for maximum effect.

"Bro, so we are at Monday Night RAW, and he's about to go out there. I think he just got in the Nation and all that still like going nowhere. And I said, Rock, come here, call them over. I said, Rock, go out there tonight. Refer to yourself in the third person," Vince Russo revealed before noting that he didn't get any appreciation for what he pulled off. "I got nothing, nothing from The Rock."

Vince Russo ended the topic by claiming that Brian Gewirtz got all the credit for The Rock's success and the latter ended up working closely with him outside of WWE. He has received many gifts from The Brahma Bull over the years, while Vince has not received any credit for his success.
