WWE veteran wants to reunite two legends for John Cena's final WrestleMania match: "I think it's gotta be A-Listers" (Exclusive)
Former WWE head writer Vince Russo feels John Cena's final WrestleMania match should be a blockbuster. The 16-time world champion will start his retirement tour in 2025.
At Money in the Bank 2024, Cena made a surprise appearance and announced that he would be hanging up his boots soon. The star said he would do one final year with the company starting in 2025.
This week on Writing with Russo, the wrestling veteran laid out plans for a huge tag team involving Cena teaming up with Stone Cold Steve Austin and Mike Tyson as their manager. He felt that legends could go up against Logan Paul and Jake Paul in a blockbuster showdown. Russo claimed that the match needed to have mainstream appeal to get more viewers to tune in to the show.
"What if Tyson manages Austin and John Cena? Tyson's gonna recruit two wrestlers. Tyson's gonna find two guys. If they do something, I would think it would be mainstream across the board that they would do this, especially with Endeavor." He continued, "If you got Logan Paul and Jake Paul in there, and Tyson in there, I think it's gotta be A-Listers, man. I think it's gotta be mainstream." [From 7:15 onwards]
Ever since Mike Tyson had the high-profile boxing match with Jake Paul, rumors have been swirling of WWE showing an interest in securing the boxer's services for WrestleMania.
It will be interesting to see if WWE can take Russo's advice and insert John Cena into the public feud between Tyson and the Paul brothers.
