WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther is 'literally paralyzed in fear' following breaking news about legendary former star, believes analyst

A WWE analyst believes Gunther needs to watch his back following his loss to Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel. Sam Roberts named a couple of WWE Superstars and a legend as potential challengers for The Ring General's World Heavyweight Championship.

Rhodes outsmarted Gunther in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to become the first-ever men's Crown Jewel Champion. The Undisputed WWE Champion countered the sleeper to pin his adversary in the middle of the ring. They showed mutual respect after the match as the event ended.

Speaking on the latest episode of the Notsam Wrestling podcast, Roberts talked about what's next for Gunther. He believes that Damian Priest, Dominik Mysterio, or even Goldberg, who recently announced that he'll have a retirement match next year, could be the next opponents of the Austrian.

"Gunther, who is just getting out of all the action that he's had over here with Sami Zayn. He's got Damian Priest knocking on his door. He's got Dirty Dominik Mysterio knocking on his door, which has to have him quite literally paralyzed in fear right now. He's got Goldberg that's hidden around every corner every time his match came up," Roberts said. [3:01 - 3:23]

At Crown Jewel, it was also announced that Gunther's next challenger will be determined on RAW this coming Monday. Damian Priest, Dominik Mysterio, Seth Rollins, and Sheamus will battle it out in a Fatal Four-Way match to determine the number one contender for the World Heavyweight Title.

Goldberg reveals WWE retirement match to happen in 2025

In an appearance on ESPN's SEC Nation, Goldberg announced that he'll be having a retirement match in WWE next year. He didn't name his opponent but teased the possibility that it could be against Gunther.

"The news of the day is per three executives Nick Khan, Chris Legentil and Paul Levesque, in 2025, Goldberg is having his retirement. I think we know who the subject or the victim, probably the frontrunner right now. We know who it is. But you know 2025, Goldberg makes his return and retirement match. I got a couple months to get ready. No date, no time, so we'll see," Goldberg said.

Gunther and Goldberg nearly had an altercation at Bad Blood, where The Ring General talked smack to the legendary superstar.
