Xavier Woods issues statement on The New Day following WWE RAW win
Monday's WWE RAW saw the two first-round matches of the tournament to crown new challengers to the World Tag Team Championship. The New Day has been the subject of immense rumors and speculation lately due to tension between Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston. Woods has now issued a statement on the duo following RAW.
The Judgment Day's Finn Balor and JD McDonagh moved one step closer to finding out who their next challengers are on this week's RAW. Woods and Kingston of The New Day defeated AOP to advance to the finals, thanks to R-Truth assisting with The Final Testament, while LWO's Dragon Lee and Rey Mysterio defeated The Creed Brothers to advance. Next week's RAW will feature the Triple Threat finals with The War Raiders vs. The New Day vs. LWO.
The New Day is showing solidarity today despite recent issues. Woods took to Instagram and issued a statement and prediction for next week. The 12-time WWE Tag Team Champion included a few photos from RAW.
"Last night we advanced in the tag team tournament. Next week we advance again!" Xavier Woods wrote with the photos below.
WWE will crown new number one contenders next week as the winners of the Triple Threat match will earn an upcoming title match with Balor and McDonagh, but the date was not confirmed. Erik and Ivar qualified for the Triple Threat by defeating Alpha Academy last week.
Update on go-home edition of WWE RAW before Crown Jewel
World Wrestling Entertainment will present its final red brand build for the Crown Jewel Premium Live Event next week. The episode will air live from Giant Center in Hershey, PA, where Sunday's NXT Halloween Havoc PLE will be held.
Officials have booked Sheamus vs. Ludwig Kaiser III for RAW and Ivy Nile vs. Zelina Vega for the first time. Below is the updated lineup:
- Ivy Nile vs. Zelina Vega
- Sheamus vs. Ludwig Kaiser, 1-1 tie-breaker
- World Tag Team Title number one contenders Tournament Finals Triple Threat: The War Raiders vs. Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee vs. The New Day
- Dominik Mysterio vs. a former World Champion to be announced
The next RAW episode on November 4 will be taped the day prior in Riyadh at Mohammed Abdo Arena, the same venue for Crown Jewel on November 2. This will be the first-ever episode of the red brand to air from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
