Xavier Woods mocks WWE star ahead of high-stakes match on RAW
Xavier Woods took to social media today to poke fun at his opponent ahead of a high-stakes match tomorrow night on WWE RAW. The veteran recently challenged Jey Uso for the Intercontinental Championship but came up short.
A tournament is currently underway on the red brand to determine who will challenge The Judgment Day's Finn Balor and JD McDonagh for the World Tag Team Championship next. The New Day will be squaring off against The Authors of Pain in the tournament tomorrow night on RAW.
Ahead of the match, Woods took to social media to poke fun at Akam of The Authors of Pain. The former champion jokingly asked if they were competing against a Star Wars mercenary on WWE RAW due to the promotional graphic shared for the match. You can check out Woods' message in the post below.
"Hold on. Are we fighting a star wars mercenary tomorrow?" Xavier Woods wrote.
WWE Hall of Famer gives Xavier Woods advice
Wrestling legend Teddy Long recently commented on Xavier Woods and shared some advice about his work in the ring.
The New Day has been struggling lately and has been teasing a potential break-up. Big E is also part of the faction but has not competed since suffering a broken neck in March 2022.
Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine podcast, Teddy Long discussed Xavier Woods' victory over Rey Mysterio on the September 30 episode of RAW. Long noted that he liked Woods but thought he needed to slow down in the ring. The legend claimed The New Day member oversold a bit, but otherwise, he enjoyed the match.
"Xavier, great guy, really like him," Long said. "I think he just needs to slow down just a little bit. He kinda oversells a little bit, for me, you know what I mean? But relax, Xavier, it's gonna be all right, playa. But, other than that, two great, outstanding people, man, Xavier and Kofi [Kingston]." [From 03:37 – 03:58]
