“You can take 3 months, 6 months” - WWE veteran thinks epic story could last a long time (Exclusive)

A WWE veteran believes that a current storyline could last more than three months.

Dutch Mantell is the latest to weigh in on the current storyline between Chad Gable and Sami Zayn. After spending days training Sami to take down Gunther at WrestleMania 40, Gable finally earned the title shot he had been craving for many months. However, he came up short in his match against Zayn. As a result, Gable ambushed Zayn after the match and laid him out in front of his friends and family, signaling a heel turn.

Speaking on the latest episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk, Dutch Mantell spoke highly of Chad Gable's heel turn and even stated that this rivalry could go on for a long time.

"I love him [Sami Zayn] doing that against [Chad] Gable. They will have tremendous matches. That's a type of angle you can take three months, six months. I don't know if it could go a year, but possibly it could, because those guys are that good." [4:33 - 4:54]

What did Sami Zayn have to say after getting betrayed by Chad Gable on WWE RAW?

It has been a roller coaster year for Sami Zayn. After losing the Undisputed Tag Team Championship last year, his best friend Kevin Owens was moved to WWE SmackDown, thereby ending their tag team run.

After that, Zayn was a mere afterthought for several months. In fact, there were no plans for him until he won the gauntlet match to face Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship. Out of nowhere, Sami was able to defeat the Ring General and end his historic reign.

However, his high soon turned into a low after the person who helped him secure the title betrayed him with a brutal assault on RAW after losing their title match. Following the attack, Sami took to Instagram to address Gable's actions on WWE RAW.

"As low down and dirty as it gets," he wrote.

It remains to be seen if fans will experience a long, drawn-out feud between these two men over the Intercontinental Championship.
