"You gotta be miserable all the time" - Roman Reigns reveals important part of being a WWE Superstar
The perfect WWE Superstar may or may not exist, but Roman Reigns is widely acknowledged by many as the greatest, all-around sports entertainer, and an exemplary, complete pro wrestler. Reigns battled leukemia twice while defying the odds with fans and critics to become the face of World Wrestling Entertainment, and is now amusingly revealing what it takes to stay at the top.
The Original Tribal Chief signed his WWE developmental contract just over fourteen years ago, with zero wrestling experience. A member of the Anoa'i family, Roman has racked up Hall of Fame-worthy stats as WWE's 28th Triple Crown Champion and 9th Grand Slam Champion under the current format. The 2015 Royal Rumble winner headlined WrestleMania a record nine times, and his second Universal Championship reign is the longest-ever at 1,316 days.
Reigns continues to post exclusive content to his TikTok. As seen below, the 39-year-old was asked how one might achieve a build like The Head of the Table. While chowing down on chicken and broccoli, Roman explained why misery is the key to staying in shape.
"You gotta be miserable. All the time. Until you get so used to it, that you're not miserable anymore. This is what you gotta eat. There's no secrets, there's no shortcuts... Eat clean, work hard, get in shape. [shrugs]" Roman Reigns said.
Reigns has wrestled just once since WrestleMania XL, and that was at Bad Blood earlier this month when he and Cody Rhodes defeated Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu. Officials continue to tease the Roman vs. Solo match, but it remains to be seen when that will happen. Reigns is advertised for the Crown Jewel weekend on November 2 and 3, but has not been officially announced for any matches on the show.
Roman Reigns set for WWE SmackDown double tapings
Roman Reigns is set to appear at the final two SmackDown tapings before the loaded Crown Jewel Premium Live Event. The blue brand will return to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NYC on Friday for the live SmackDown episode, and to tape the episode that will air on November 1.
The Head of the Table himself announced Friday's appearance, while the WWE and arena websites also have him front-and-center on advertising. Solo Sikoa is also advertised, setting up a pre-Crown Jewel showdown between the cousins.
Friday's episode will also feature DIY vs. The Motor City Machine Guns for a future shot at WWE Tag Team Champions Tonga Loa and Tama Tonga, plus the match seven for the tie-breaker between Andrade and Carmelo Hayes, with LA Knight as the special guest referee. In other Crown Jewel build, Cody Rhodes and Gunther will face off on Friday night.
