"You just knocked the hell out of me" - Ex-WWE star recalls taking a huge bump for Big Show (Exclusive)

Former WWE manager Dutch Mantell recently spoke about taking bumps for the Big Show during his time with the company. The veteran worked as on-screen manager Zeb Colter.

Mantell had a stellar run with WWE from 2013 to 2016. He served as the on-screen manager for popular stars such as Jack Swagger, Alberto Del Rio, and Cesaro. He managed these stars to some famous victories and got Swagger over with the "We the People" chants.

This week on Sportskeeda Wrestling's SmackTalk, Mantell recalled a match between Swagger and Show. He mentioned that he took a big bump for the giant, and the star thanked him backstage for the spot. The veteran manager stated that he jokingly led Big Show to believe he was hurt during the bump.

"Who did I take a bump for? Oh, I took one for Big Show. He had me (like this). I would rather hurt myself than to embarrass myself. And it would be embarrassing for him too, you know how big he is. I took the damnest bump for him. But he thanked me in the back. He said, 'Mother hunter,' he said something else. He said, 'Thank you, thank you, thank you.' Even Jack (Swagger) said, 'What a bump!' I said, 'Believe me brother, I didn't want to do it.' I told Big Show, I said, 'Hey, if you hadn't hit me so hard I wouldn't have fell so quickly. You just knocked the hell out of me.' No I did not. I said brother, that hurt like hell." [4:28 onwards]

During the discussion, Mantell revealed that it was Show's idea for him to take the bump, and he eventually complied. He mentioned it was a memorable moment and they had a good laugh about it backstage.
