"You'll see me but you won't see me" - John Cena makes massive declaration after WWE Money in the Bank
WWE Superstar John Cena recently shocked the whole world by making a heartbreaking announcement at the 2024 Money in the Bank Premium Live Event. Following the show, he made a massive declaration.
Cena was the face of World Wrestling Entertainment for almost two decades before transitioning to Hollywood. The 16-time World Champion's phenomenal career is about to end, as he announced at MITB that 2025 would be his final year as an in-ring competitor.
In his storied career, The Cenation Leader has played several on-screen characters, including The Doctor of Thuganomics, a villainous rapper.
During the Money in the Bank post-show press conference, John Cena was asked if he would turn heel once again during his final WWE run. The 16-time World Champion said that changing his character at this point in his career would go against his values, and fans would not buy into it.
"So I think, by now, I have to, you know, what? 22 years? I know you'll see me but you won't see me [everyone laughs]. You will get my authentic self and moments of frustration and moments of disappointment. Heck, I can't remember the last time I won a match, you know, I'm in a little bit of a slump. So I guess I don't think in those terms. What I do know is I really try to work hard every day to be as good a human being as I can. So I don't know how much impact that would have because it goes heavily against what I value. I think you would see through it," he said. [15:59 - 16:43]

It remains to be seen what the Stamford-based promotion has planned for John Cena's last WWE run. The 16-time World Champion talked about potentially facing The Rock for a third time in World Wrestling Entertainment. Will the two stalwarts lock horns again? Only time will tell.
