"You are lying to yourselves" - WWE veteran says The Bloodline storyline must end unless one thing happens
The Bloodline storyline has been going on for nearly four years in WWE. The most recent chapter involves Solo Sikoa taking over the faction and Roman Reigns fighting to regain his Ula Fala and status as The Tribal Chief. However, former head writer Vince Russo recently heavily criticized the ongoing angle.
Last week, The OTC teamed up with Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes to defeat Sikoa and Jacob Fatu. The match witnessed the return of Jimmy Uso. Last night on SmackDown, Jimmy told his cousin that they needed help against Sikoa's Bloodline, teasing a reunion with Jey Uso. Many currently expect Reigns to reform the original Bloodline to square off against Solo's version of the faction at Survivor Series.
Former WWE head writer Vince Russo recently took to X to slam the Stamford-based company for the booking of The Bloodline saga, claiming it was turning into the nWo storyline that was "milked until it meant absolutely NOTHING!" The wrestling veteran urged the creative team to come up with a twist or end the angle.
"If somebody denies that The Bloodline storyline is turning EXACTLY into the nWo storyline, where they milked it until it meant absolutely NOTHING—you are lying to yourselves. So what? The Usos reform; we bring Sami back, then we rinse, wash, and repeat for another two years? Either come up with some kind of a TWIST [sic] to refresh the story or MOVE ON! We got it. It's going to get to the point where @TheRealDisco is the ONLY ONE putting it over," he wrote.
Another former WWE writer thinks Jacob Fatu could become the next Tribal Chief
Unlike Vince Russo, former WWE writer Freddie Prinze Jr. said that The Bloodline storyline could continue for a long time. While Solo Sikoa and Roman Reigns are currently fighting over the leadership of the faction, the Hollywood star claimed another superstar could eventually become The Tribal Chief.
Speaking on his Wrestling with Freddie podcast, the former writer stated that Jacob Fatu could one day lead The Bloodline. Meanwhile, he wondered if The Samoan Werewolf could also become a world champion one day.
"That dude, I don't know if he's gonna be a heavyweight champion, like a world champion. He'd have to be able to talk on the mic. But they gotta do something with Jacob Fatu and this whole Bloodline thing, like maybe one day he's the head of The Bloodline, I don't know. If he can ever talk. I didn't know if Solo would be able to, and he can. So, you never know with guys," he said.
While many expect Jacob Fatu to play a major role in The Bloodline down the road, it will be interesting to see who comes out on top in the current power struggle between Sikoa and Reigns.
