"You want to make money or you want to make friends?" - Triple H's blunt message to top WWE star revealed

A former WWE Champion revealed that Triple H gave him some advice when he hadn't yet become a big name in the company. The name in question is Batista.

Batista quickly rose up the ranks on WWE RAW during the early 2000s and won his first World Heavyweight title by defeating The Game in the main event of WrestleMania 21. He considers Paul Levesque his mentor and has nothing but respect and admiration for him.

In a new interview with The School of Hark Knocks, Batista opened up about a piece of advice that Triple H gave him back in the day. Here's what The Animal said:

"One of the things was when I first got there, I was so afraid... I didn't want to pi*s people off. It was a hierarchy thing and I was so afraid of being disrespectful or pis*ing somebody off. One day he said, 'Look man. You want to make money or you want to make friends? This is a business. You have to look at it like a business. You're a business.' I always thought about myself as my own commodity. I am my brand. Another thing he said, 'Always imagine that everybody is pointing a gun at your head. It's up to you how many bullets you give them.'" [H/T Fightful]

Batista lost to Triple H in his final WWE bout

Batista made a brief return in early 2019 and kicked off a feud with The Game. The feud led to a No Holds Barred match at WrestleMania 35, which Batista lost. He announced his retirement from pro wrestling shortly after.

Batista is now a full-fledged Hollywood actor, and many fans consider him the best wrestler-turned-actor in history. It's safe to say that he is done with pro wrestling for good.
