Nick Aldis to announce a huge world title match for WWE SmackDown ahead of Crown Jewel? Exploring the possibility
WWE Friday Night SmackDown will air later tonight on the USA Network. The show is going to be a fun one, with new stars set to debut and Roman Reigns scheduled to appear. The event could also feature an interesting announcement.
SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis could reveal that a major title match might take place on the blue brand, either tonight or next week. The reigning WWE Women's Champion Nia Jax might put her belt on the line against Naomi.
This would be announced following the events from last week. Albeit due to controversial circumstances, Naomi defeated the reigning world champion thanks to a huge powerbomb. Now that The Queen of Glow has pinned the world champion, a title opportunity seems as if it'll inevitably come Naomi's way.
The bout in which Naomi won was filled with chaos both mid-match and after it ended. WWE Monday Night RAW's Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, and Dominik Mysterio were ringside for the bout, as was Nia's associate Tiffany Stratton.
Thanks to chaos with Tiffany and The Judgment Day, Nia was blasted with the Money in the Bank briefcase, which allowed Naomi to hit a powerbomb from the ropes for the win. Post-match, Rhea Ripley showed up and attacked too. It was a lot of chaos, but a win is a win and Naomi should have a title opportunity.
This could shake up WWE Crown Jewel 2024
The reason why Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, and Dominik Mysterio appeared on WWE SmackDown last week was due to the upcoming Crown Jewel Premium Live Event. That show will feature a very special bout.
The WWE Women's Champion, Nia Jax, will take on RAW's Women's World Champion, Liv Morgan. The winner of the bout will go on to become the Women's Crown Jewel Champion, which comes with a blinged-out title belt.
However, if Naomi and Nia battle it out, things could change. The Queen of Glow could potentially pin the world champion and win the prized title. Supposing that happens, Nia would no longer be The Miracle Kid's opponent in Saudi Arabia. Instead, Naomi and Liv Morgan would clash for the right to be called the Women's Crown Jewel Champion.
Nick Aldis could dramatically shake things up if he announces this world title match tonight. Of course, given how talented and dominant Nia is, she could end up defeating Naomi and head to Crown Jewel regardless. Either way, it will be interesting to see.
