Nick Aldis to ban The Bloodline, popular star to get suspended ahead of SummerSlam? 4 Things the WWE SmackDown GM can do when he returns on Friday
The upcoming edition of WWE SmackDown will be the 1300th episode of the blue brand. The show will air from the CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
It will feature the return of SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis, who missed last week's show as he was on vacation in France. With just about two weeks left until WWE SummerSlam 2024, several big announcements can be expected from Aldis.
So, without further ado, let's take a look at four potential things Nick Aldis can do on SmackDown tonight.
#4. Ban The Bloodline from ringside during Cody Rhodes vs. Solo Sikoa
Cody Rhodes will put his Undisputed WWE Championship on the line against Solo Sikoa at SummerSlam next month after the new Tribal Chief pinned him at Money in the Bank.
At the end of last week's SmackDown, The Bloodline took advantage of the numbers game and assaulted The American Nightmare and Randy Orton, who came out to try and save his friend.
Since the group's inception, The Bloodline has interrupted many big matches. In the past, Roman Reigns used to receive help from his family, and it seems like Solo Sikoa will be the one to misuse his power now.
It is possible that Nick Aldis bans Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa from ringside during Rhodes vs. Sikoa at The Biggest Party of the Summer to ensure that a fair and square match takes place.
Additionally, it could set up the return of Roman Reigns after the match, who could take out Sikoa without having to deal with other members of The Bloodline. Reigns taking out all members of the group on his own during his potential return would make the group look weak, so them not being around would be a more logical move.
#3. Deal with Chelsea Green
After injuring her neck during the Women's Money in the Bank Ladder match, Chelsea Green waited in line all night to speak to Nick Aldis last week. However, she stormed out of the arena at the end of the night after finding out that the SmackDown General Manager was not in his office.
She will likely get to speak to Aldis tonight about what is next for her. He could give Chelsea Green and Piper Niven a chance to earn a shot at the WWE Women's Tag Team titles tonight.
Triple H could book the Women's Tag Team Championship to be defended on SmackDown before SummerSlam, as it will be a big show.
#2. Announce a WWE Tag Team Championship match for SummerSlam
A-Town Down Under got a rematch for the WWE Tag Team Championship against DIY on SmackDown last week. Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano defeated Grayson Waller and Austin Theory for the second week in a row to retain the titles.
Jacob Fatu came out after the match and took out everyone except Grayson Waller, who retreated before The Enforcer could target him.
The WWE Tag Team titles have never been defended on a premium live event since replacing the SmackDown Tag Team titles after WrestleMania XL. It is possible that Nick Aldis announces a match for them that could take place at SummerSlam.
DIY could defend the titles against the teams of Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga and Randy Orton and Kevin Owens in a Triple Threat match.
#1. Suspend LA Knight from WWE SmackDown
LA Knight has been demanding a shot at the United States Championship from Logan Paul for weeks. However, The Maverick is not interested in giving him a title match.
On last week's SmackDown, The Megastar showed a contract signed by himself and Nick Aldis. It is possible that he forged Aldis' signature as the blue brand's General Manager did not even attend last week's show.
Knight could face consequences for it in such a case, and Aldis could suspend him from his show tonight. This may lead to the inevitable Knight vs. Paul clash being delayed until Bash in Berlin or Bad Blood.
