Nick Aldis to be forced to strip title from major WWE champion ahead of SummerSlam? Exploring potential reasoning
Nick Aldis has made it clear that he isn't the sort of man to be messed around after Adam Pearce was taken advantage of by many WWE Superstars before Aldis was appointed SmackDown General Manager. The former TNA star became an authority figure last October.
In his time in charge, Aldis has become known for handing out fines and punishments, and he could be forced to step this up leading into SummerSlam if Logan Paul decides that he doesn't want to face LA Knight with his United States Championship on the line.
Paul was reluctant to sign the contract papers this week on SmackDown and with Aldis in the ring alongside him he attempted to back out of the match, but Knight refused to back down and finally The Maverick signed the contract and made the match against The Megastar official.
Logan hasn't defended his championship since WrestleMania XL in April and is already in breach of WWE's historic title defense rule. He could make matters worse for himself if he refuses to defend his title against LA Knight just like he did when he faced Cody Rhodes at King and Queen of the Ring in May.
Since The Maverick has already signed on the dotted line, this could lead to Aldis stepping in and taking the title.
Logan Paul is a very busy man outside of WWE
Logan Paul is one of the most recognizable names in the world, he has recently talked about pushing forward to become World Champion, but he will always be seen as a part-time star.
Of course, part-time stars adhere to different rules but they have to defend their titles when they have been scheduled in a match.
Paul has been a fantastic ambassador for WWE over the past year and taking the United States Championship around the world has been a free advertisement for the company, but Triple H can't be seen to be treating bigger stars any differently or there could be some issues backstage moving forward.
