Nick Aldis to be forced to strip WWE Superstars of their championship for their actions? Potential punishment explored
Nick Aldis is the current General Manager of WWE SmackDown. The National Treasure has been performing well since adopting this role in the Stamford-based promotion. However, during a recent episode of the blue brand, things became chaotic when the Street Profits were mysteriously attacked backstage.
This happened just before their WWE Tag Team Title match against the Motor City Machine Guns. As a result, Nick granted this title match to DIY, who later turned heel during the match and dethroned Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin as champions. The villainous turn of DIY seemingly hints that they were behind the attack on Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins backstage, to secure a tag team title shot.
However, if this scenario holds true, Nick Aldis could make an unexpected decision to strip the tag team titles from the shoulders of Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa. While granting this title match to DIY backstage, Nick Aldis clearly warned Gargano that he must not regret his decision to give a tag team title shot. He also instructed Gargano to forward this message to Ciampa.
So, in the upcoming episode of SmackDown, if Aldis discovers that DIY was responsible for the mysterious attack, he could strip them of the titles. The rationale behind this is the warning from the GM that was given just before allowing DIY to replace the Profits in that match. However, stripping the tag team titles is certainly a major decision, which is why the chances of this unfolding are slim.
Probably, Nick might even impose some sort of fine or another form of punishment to ensure this doesn't happen again. For now, fans have to wait for the upcoming episode of WWE SmackDown to see how the tag team division will evolve after DIY became tag team champions.
Nick Aldis could announce a major match for Saturday Night's Main Event
The upcoming Saturday Night's Main Event is already a stacked special NBC event for WWE. However, on this week’s SmackDown, Nick Aldis might announce another major match for the event by adding a rematch between DIY and the Motor City Machine Guns.
Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin are certainly not pleased with their loss last week, especially given the way DIY won. As a result, they might approach the SmackDown GM in this week’s edition of the blue brand to request their rematch.
Following this, Nick Aldis could announce that a rematch between DIY and MCMG will take place at Saturday Night's Main Event. The addition of this match would indeed make the card for this NBC special even more stacked and spark interest among fans.
