Nick Aldis must ensure he doesn't give into Cody Rhodes' massive demand on WWE SmackDown to avoid a major problem
Cody Rhodes and Logan Paul will have a contract signing on the upcoming edition of SmackDown as they will face each other in a high-voltage clash at King and Queen of the Ring later this month. This match is currently advertised for the Undisputed WWE Championship in Saudi Arabia.
However, Rhodes has been advocating for it to be a Winner-Take-All match. The American Nightmare tweeted that he wanted to have all the gold since it would be a champion vs. champion bout. Regardless, SmackDown GM Nick Aldis must ensure that he doesn't fulfill Cody Rhodes' demand, as it will have repercussions.
It will curtail opportunities on SmackDown
Cody Rhodes competing in a Winner-Take-All match at King and Queen of the Ring will possibly pave the way for him to become a double champion. The American Nightmare will eventually end up holding both the Undisputed WWE Title and the United States Title.
However, Rhodes potentially holding both belts will curtail opportunities for several superstars on SmackDown. This would lessen the likelihood of additional matches, which could only occur if two different superstars held the two titles on the roster.
Hence, Nick Aldis must avoid putting both championships on the line for the Champion vs. Champion bout at the upcoming premium live event in Saudi Arabia.
It will overshadow the King and Queen of the Ring
One of the major reasons why Cody Rhodes vs. Logan Paul must not be a Winner-Take-All match at King and Queen of the Ring 2024 is because it will understate the theme of the premium live event.
WWE will crown a new King and Queen of the Ring at the upcoming spectacle in Saudi Arabia, which holds great significance. However, it will be completely overshadowed if the Stamford-based promotion coronates a double champion at the same event.
In addition, it will steal the show, with the major topic point following the conclusion of the premium live event centered on the possible double champion rather than the new King and Queen of the Ring, who will be crowned.
Cody Rhodes' becoming a double champion could backfire
A wide section of fans have already started to turn against Cody Rhodes as they believe that his championship run is underwhelming. Therefore, capturing the United States Championship at this juncture, when he already has to accentuate his current title run, could backfire.
Chasing another title just a month after winning the Undisputed WWE Championship would be quite a redundant move. Hence, Nick Aldis must not grant Rhodes' wish to make his blockbuster clash against Logan Paul a Winner-Take-All match.
There's no denying that The American Nightmare could be a double champion in WWE. However, it happening at this point could backfire on him and would be quite a debatable move, given that he recently captured the Undisputed WWE Championship after years of hard-fought battles.
