Nick Aldis to reveal 9-time champion has quit WWE; Cody Rhodes' Bad Blood match - 4 things the SmackDown GM can announce on tonight's episode

The final episode of WWE SmackDown on FOX will air from the Rogers Arena in Edmonton, Canada, tonight. It will feature the fallout from the 2024 Bash in Berlin Premium Live Event.

The blue brand's General Manager, Nick Aldis, could make some huge announcements on SmackDown tonight. With the show's premiere on USA Network and the Bad Blood Premium Live Event scheduled in the next thirty days, tonight's SmackDown could be one to look forward to.

So without further ado, let's take a look at four announcements Nick Aldis could make on WWE SmackDown tonight.

#4. Cody Rhodes vs. Solo Sikoa II at WWE Bad Blood

Cody Rhodes had an excellent match with Kevin Owens at Bash in Berlin last Saturday, which ended with The American Nightmare retaining the Undisputed WWE Championship.

Solo Sikoa made it clear before the Bash in Berlin encounter that he would challenge the winner of Rhodes vs. Owens for the title. He almost won the gold in the main event of SummerSlam, but Roman Reigns showed up and cost him the title.

On tonight's episode of SmackDown, Nick Aldis could make Cody Rhodes vs. Solo Sikoa II official for WWE Bad Blood next month. He could announce it to take place inside Hell in a Cell so that no interruptions would be possible.

#3. High-stakes match between Andrade and Carmelo Hayes on SmackDown

Andrade and Carmelo Hayes have been embroiled in a heated rivalry throughout the summer. The WWE Speed Champion sent Hayes crashing through a ladder with a Sunset Flip Powerbomb at Money in the Bank, which has led to several matches between them.

The two men are 2-2 against each other, so another match to determine who gets the upper hand is likely.

Nick Aldis could announce their fifth encounter for tonight or next week, with the winner of the match getting a United States Championship shot against LA Knight.

#2. A rematch between Nia Jax and Bayley

After winning Queen of the Ring in May, Nia Jax dethroned Bayley as the WWE Women's Champion at SummerSlam. The Role Model has not received a rematch for the title yet.

Nick Aldis may announce a rematch between The Irresistible Force and The Role Model for next week's USA Network premiere of SmackDown if the latter defeats Tiffany Stratton tonight. A world title match taking place would be fitting for the show.

#1. Nick Aldis announces Kevin Owens has quit WWE

Kevin Owens failed to defeat Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at Bash in Berlin. There has been speculation about him possibly turning heel due to the loss, but if the Stamford-based promotion goes for Solo Sikoa vs. Cody Rhodes, not much would be left for KO to do on SmackDown.

It is possible that the 9-time Champion has a meeting with Nick Aldis and informs him that he is leaving WWE. He was unsatisfied about getting a title match despite having a poor win-loss record this year. The loss to Cody Rhodes might have embarrassed him to the point that he decided to walk out.

Kevin Owens' WWE contract is set to expire at the start of next year, so Triple H could write him off television until the two sides conclude his future. It could lead to him signing another extension or possibly going to AEW for a run with his friends, The Young Bucks.
