NJPW/Indy News: Bullet Club gets its first Australian member
What’s the story?
Australian Independent promotion, Melbourne City Wrestling (MCW) recently held a show last week called, November Rain. The November Rain show was by far the biggest show and card the promotion has ever put up as it featured reigning IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada, who went toe-to-toe with Australian wrestler Slex on the night.
However, apart from Okada, the match card also featured another NJPW legend and Bullet Club member, Bad Luck Fale, who during the event offered Australian wrestler “Mr. Juicy” Gino Gambino a Bullet Club T-shirt, which he happily accepted and thus joined the famous faction in the process.
In case you didn’t know…
“Mr. Juicy” Gino Gambino is an Australian professional wrestler who has been wrestling on the Indy scene in Australia for a while now.
Gambino is mostly known for his work with Melbourne’s top promotion, MCW, and is also a former MCW Heavyweight Champion. He has also previously held the Intercommonwealth and Tag Team Championships during his time in the promotion.
Gambino has also wrestled for the SPW promotion which is based in New Zealand. Fale and Gambino teamed up at MCW’s New Horizon event in August, and on November 11th the two men were once part of the same tag team.
The heart of the matter
This past week in the MCW: November Rain show, Bullet Club member Bad Luck Fale teamed up with MCW’s very own “Mr. Juicy” Gino Gambino, as the duo faced off against the brand new tag team Helter Skelter (Ali and Jake Andrewartha).
Following their match against Helter Skelter, Fale would go on to offer a Bullet Club T-Shirt to Gambino and invited him to join the famous Japanese faction. The Aussie superstar would go on to accept The Underboss’ invitation and put on the Bullet Club tee— thus making him the first Australian to join the group.
Bad Luck Fale and Mr. Juicy then shared a ‘Too Sweet’ inside the ring.
What’s next?
Following his induction into the Bullet Club, Mr. Juicy became the first ever Australian-born wrestler to join the faction. He is the third wrestler to join the group in 2017, following the recruits of “The Villain” Marty Scurll and Leo Tonga (who is the real-life brother of fellow members Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa), earlier this year.
With the addition of Gino Gambino, Bullet Club’s current membership stands at thirteen, which is the largest number in the group’s four-year history.
Author’s Take
“Mr. Juicy” Gino Gambino adds a different vibe and flavour to the Bullet Club, and he is certainly a great addition to the faction, due to him being so popular in Australia. Gambino’s addition to the faction will surely help both Bullet Club and New Japan Pro Wrestling to grow in Australia and become even more popular.
