What’s the story?

As noted on the latest episode of The Young Bucks’ YouTube channel, Being the Elite, Bullet Club members Kenny Omega and Cody Rhodes were once again involved in an altercation with each other, this time during NJPW’s recent Australia tour.

In case you didn’t know…

The issues between Cody Rhodes and Kenny Omega initially began last year during Omega’s IWGP Heavyweight Title match against Kazuchika Okada at NJPW: Dominion 6.11, when Cody initially wanted to throw in the towel on behalf of Omega but wasn’t able to do so due to the rest of the Bullet Club members.

Also, during last year’s G1 Special in USA, Omega repeated the same as he proceeded to throw in the towel for Cody during his IWGP Heavyweight Title bout against Okada, but, “The Cleaner” was eventually prevented by Matt and Nicks Jackson, the Young Bucks.

However, at NJPW’s latest New Beginning in Sapporo show, Cody Rhodes finally betrayed Kenny Omega, when he hit the former IWGP US Champion with a Cross Rhodes and further proceeded to attack Omega along with Hangman Page, before Omega’s former tag team partner Kota Ibushi stepped in to make the save for Kenny Omega and thus reuniting the Golden Lovers in the process, leaving the status of the Bullet Club in question.

The heart of the matter

During the latest episode of Being the Elite, Matt and Nick Jackson (collectively known as The Young Bucks) called for a Bullet Club meeting among themselves and the likes of Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa, Bad Luck Fale, Chase Owens, and Gino Gambino in order to clear the air among themselves and the OGBC.

While the recent Bullet Club gathering in Australia, Matt Jackson stated that he thinks that there is a divide within the Bullet Club as a whole, however, there is certainly no dissension and issues among the members of The Elite and the Bullet Club OG’s. Furthermore, Matt added, that as of right now, the only heat within the Bullet Club is between two individuals, that is, Kenny Omega and Cody Rhodes.

In response to Matt Jackson, Bullet Club OG Tama Tonga stated that he agrees with Cody Rhodes and believes that the ‘Bullet Club is fine’, however, moments later, “The American Nightmare” himself and “The Cleaner” Kenny Omega were both seen joining the rest of the Bullet Club in the locker room, as Omega called Cody “a snake in the grass” labeling him as a betrayer. Shortly afterward, a brawl between both men broke out as the rest of the Bullet Club had to keep both Omega and Rhodes apart from each other as Cody threw a chair towards Omega, only for “The Cleaner” to dodge it by a few inches.

What’s next?

Cody and Omega will both get the chance to settle their differences in the ring when both men square off in a one-on-one match at this year’s ROH: Supercard of Honor pay-per-view.

Author’s Take

One of the interesting parts about this brawl between Omega and Cody was seeing Tama Tonga sit in the corner all by himself, which in my opinion, indicated towards the fact that Tama isn’t going to be a part of this feud between ‘Team Cody’ and ‘Team Kenny’. In the past, Tama Tonga has also stated on numerous occasions that he wants a New Beginning within the Bullet Club by reuniting all the faction OGs.
