What’s the story?

Kenny Omega has finally opened up on social media after being attacked by a few Bullet Club members.

While Omega didn’t clarify his status in Bullet Club, he simply asserted that this is a new beginning for him.

In case you didn’t know…

‘The Cleaner’ Kenny Omega has been a part of Bullet Club since 2014 and is widely considered to be one of its most important members. Omega and Cody Rhodes, who is also a Bullet Club member, have been engaged in multiple volatile segments over the past few months, as tensions between the two led to a few other Bullet Club members intervening to diffuse the situations time and again.

Competing on Day 2 of NJPW New Beginning, Kenny Omega suffered an upset loss to Jay White—losing the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship to White. Omega is the inaugural IWGP US Heavyweight title-holder and reigned with the belt since winning it in July of last year in a Special 8-Man Tournament which transpired in Long Beach, California.

The heart of the matter

Kenny Omega seemed shocked at his loss and expressed his disappointment at the outcome inside the ring, however, his Bullet Club teammate, Adam ‘Hangman’ Page, briefly snatched the title from White—teasing a feud between the latter and himself. Nevertheless, Omega handed the title back to White and began arguing with Page.

Omega also got into an altercation with The Young Bucks, who left the scene and went backstage, however, when the situation seemed to have cooled down after a few handshakes between Omega & Page, and Omega & Cody; the latter attacked Omega with a Cross Rhodes. Following which, Cody alongside a few of his Bullet Club stable-mates attempted to attack Omega with a Steel Chair, only for Kota Ibushi to come down and save Omega.

The segment ended with Omega and Ibushi embracing in the ring, thereby signaling the Golden Lovers possibly reuniting after about 4 years.

Omega sent out the following Tweet after the shocking turn of events at NJPW New Beginning—

What’s next?

Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi are expected to perform as allies in NJPW from this point moving forward. On the other hand, while Omega hasn’t confirmed his standing with Bullet Club, experts believe that he’s now no longer a part of the popular faction.
