No.1 Contender for NXT Championship revealed, WWE NXT sign huge indies star
– Finn Balor, the current NXT champion, who last defended his title against Kevin Owens is looking for a greater competition for the title. Balor who is considered as a great wrestler has been teaming up with Samoa Joe to compete at in the Dusty Classic Tag Team Tournament.
It was widely believed that Samoa Joe would be the next opponent to go after Finn Balor’s title. Fans speculated that one of them would turn on the other eventually to set up the clash for the title. WWE posted a video of Samoa Joe and Balor celebrating which was short lived after Joe made his intentions clear about Balor and the NXT Championship.
William Regal squashed all the speculation and rumours and announced that there would be a Battle Royal for the coveted spot. Apollo Crews who is the hottest new property on WWE right now won the Battle Royal to be the No. 1 Contender. Crews has been heavily praised by Triple H and fans alike, is believed to be the future WWE champion in his career. Crews boasts of an excellent physique coupled with brilliant wrestling skills.
The match is believed to take place at the NXT London Takeover, but some people suggest that it would be earlier than expected and the London Takeover might feature a huge main event between Samoa Joe and Finn Balor. With Finn Balor expected to make his debut on RAW sooner rather than later, it may come down to either Samoa Joe or Apollo Crews to take away the title from Balor.
