NXT News: Sawyer Fulton injured, new member of SAniTY revealed
In the latest episode of NXT, a fresh angle began where Big Damo joined SAniTY and replaced Sawyer Fulton. Damo helped Alexander Wolfe and Eric Young win their match. After the match he tossed Fulton’s jacket onto the entrance ramp before walking away.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Fulton hasn’t been around due to an unknown injury, supposedly related to the shoulder or biceps. However, his injury is expected to keep him out for several months. It is undoubtedly a tough break for Sawyer Fulton, who had just begun to find his footing in NXT. Fulton and Alexander Wolfe were not present in any ongoing storylines. Nor was Nikki Cross had just been in one match but was yet to be involved in any active storyline. Now, Fulton has seemingly lost his spot.
SAniTY‘s debut has gone down well so far in NXT and they were even semi-finalists in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. That was Fulton’s last appearance when SAniTY lost to TM-61 in the tournament semi-finals.
It will be interesting to see what SAniTY’s future holds with Big Damo in Fulton’s spot. Damo brings about a dominating presence and would definitely fit the role of being the muscle of the group. Alexander Wolfe and Sawyer Fulton themselves are performers with big physical structures but Damo brings about an entirely different presence. His addition to the NXT roster would definitely be welcome during the current restructuring and rebuilding that the brand is currently undergoing.
The Northern Irish-born wrestler is a former ICW Heavyweight Champion and was also the first WCPW Heavyweight Champion. While he has travelled to the United States as well, Big Damo primarily made his name on the British Independent Scene. You can hear him talk about his journey in training to be a wrestler here.
